Trudy Miller, Solutionista

Ever since her childhood years of watching Star Trek and playing with a rubix cube, Trudy Miller had been waiting for the perfect "fast forward to the future" wardrobe to show up, but with extreme levels of style, comfort, convenience and customization. In 2005, she decided she couldn't wait any longer, so she put on her solutionista thinking cape and got on the case.

Today she is proud to introduce TRUDY MILLER LAYERS, a utilitarian chic clothing line that celebrates the joy of having it all, in the tiniest package possible. The garments deliver high levels of style, comfort, endurance and utility, without compromising aesthetics. Each flexible silhouette is fully customizable to individual body type, lifestyle needs, and the constant fluctuations that occur in a woman’s cycle over time.

Trudy's comprehensive approach to problem solving, and her playful sense of style come together in a variety of media. Her formal training is in architecture, but her passion is high performance design. Her designs help to streamline our lives, giving us more time to enjoy them. As director of Clinchdesign, she is currently designing flexible apparel, furniture, and spaces that solve the ultimate puzzle: how to do more with less.

Prior to becoming an interim clothing designer, Trudy was lecturing at Parsons the New School for Design, in the School of Constructed Environments, and the School of Design Strategies. She has also taught several public workshops for high school students through programs sponsored by the Smithsonian Institute (Cooper Hewitt) and the Museum of Modern Art.
